Which VAT rates does Spendify support?
Any rate from 0 to 100 percent, for example 20%, 19%, 21%, 22% or 7.7%. The rate on each receipt is kept as it was detected or as you enter it, and it is never rounded to a fixed list.
Photograph a receipt, check the VAT that was read, and export it with the total to a CSV file.
No accounting suite. No bank connections.
For freelancers and small businesses that keep track of VAT in a spreadsheet.
If you reclaim or report VAT, you need the VAT amount and the rate for each receipt. Typing them by hand is slow, and it is where mistakes creep in.
Spendify reads them from the photo, and you check them before they are saved.
Any VAT rate works, from 0 to 100 percent: 20%, 19%, 21%, 22%, 7.7%. It is never rounded to a fixed list.
If the receipt prints the VAT amount, Spendify reads it. If it prints the rate, for example “20%”, Spendify reads that too. If no rate is printed, Spendify calculates it from the total and the VAT amount.
OCR is not perfect. You see the result on a review screen before anything is saved, and you can change the VAT amount and the rate. If a receipt shows no VAT, enter 0.
Take a photo or upload an image. Spendify reads the date, merchant, total and VAT.
Review the VAT amount and the VAT rate and fix anything that is wrong.
Download a CSV with the total, the VAT amount and the VAT rate of the receipts you select.
The export screen shows the total and the total VAT of the receipts you selected. You can filter by date — the last 7 days, the last 30 days, this month, last month or a custom range — and choose which receipts to include.
The CSV holds one row per receipt, so the net amount is the total minus the VAT: one formula in your spreadsheet.
Spendify captures the VAT on your receipts and exports it. It is not accounting software, it does not prepare or file VAT returns, and it does not give tax advice. It does not connect to your bank either: you upload a receipt, review the data and choose what to export.

Usually, when it is printed on the receipt. Spendify reads the VAT amount and, if the receipt prints a rate, the rate. If no rate is printed, it calculates one from the total and the VAT amount. The result is not always perfect, so you check it before it is saved.
No. The CSV has the total (VAT included), the VAT amount and the VAT rate, next to the date, merchant, category, notes and receipt ID. The net amount is the total minus the VAT, one formula in your spreadsheet.
The app shows amounts in euros. Spendify does not convert currencies, and the CSV contains plain numbers without a currency symbol.
No. Spendify captures the VAT on each receipt and exports it. It is not accounting software and does not give tax advice. Your VAT return stays in your own tools.
