Receipts Don't Belong in Spreadsheets

If you track expenses in Excel or Google Sheets, the spreadsheet itself isn't the problem. The friction comes from manually typing receipt data — especially small or infrequent expenses.

Looking for a simple way to convert a receipt to CSV without expensive accounting software?

Receipts pile up. Entry gets postponed. Consistency breaks.

Spendify removes just that friction.

Convert Receipt to Excel or Google Sheets

Spendify extracts key data from your receipt — date, merchant, total — and lets you download it as a CSV file that opens directly in Excel or Google Sheets.

No formatting headaches. No manual retyping. Just spreadsheet-ready data.

How It Works

From receipt photo to CSV in three simple steps.

1

Upload a receipt photo

Take a photo or upload an image. AI extracts the date, merchant, and total automatically.

2

Review and correct the data

Check the date, merchant name, and total amount. Fix anything the AI got wrong before exporting.

3

Export as CSV

Download a clean CSV file and import it into Google Sheets, Excel, or any spreadsheet app.

Why CSV?

CSV works everywhere.

  • ✓ Google Sheets
  • ✓ Microsoft Excel
  • ✓ Apple Numbers
  • ✓ Custom accounting systems

No lock-in. No proprietary format.

Just clean, structured expense data you control.

No Bank Connections. No Syncing.

Spendify does not connect to financial institutions.
It does not access bank accounts.
It does not sync transactions automatically.

You upload a receipt.
You review the data.
You choose what to export.

That's it.

Built For

  • ✓ Freelancers tracking expenses in spreadsheets
  • ✓ Small business owners who don't need full accounting software
  • ✓ People who want receipt-to-CSV, not a finance suite

Not built for replacing full bookkeeping software.

Frequently asked questions

What columns does the receipt CSV contain?

Each row is one receipt, with eight columns: Date, Merchant, Total, VAT, VAT Rate, Category, Notes and Receipt ID. You can open the file in Excel or import it into Google Sheets or any other spreadsheet app.

Is the data extracted automatically?

The date, merchant and amounts are read from the photo automatically, but not always perfectly. You can review each receipt and correct anything that looks wrong before you export.

Can I export only some of my receipts?

Yes. You choose which receipts to include and can filter them by date: the last 7 days, the last 30 days, this month, last month or a custom date range.

Does Spendify connect to my bank account?

No. Spendify does not connect to banks or financial institutions and does not sync transactions. You upload a receipt, review the data and choose what to export.

Why not just use ChatGPT to read my receipts?

You can, and it will often get the numbers right. The difference is the workflow: Spendify always returns the same eight columns in the same order, gives you a dedicated screen to review and fix each receipt before it counts, and exports straight into YNAB with duplicate protection, no copy-pasting a reply out of a chat and no re-explaining the format every time.

How much does Spendify cost?

Spendify is free for up to 10 receipts a month, no credit card required. Need more? Unlimited receipts are €4.99 per month.
